Blogs that have Died, A Memorial

Are you one of those sad souls that thought up a great blogger name, typed it into the blog name box, only to find that some dummy took in the early days of blogdom? What's worse, they made one or two, maybe even a half dozen entries, then, abandoned the blogshere for good. I'm sure there are some very good reasons; some sad, some bizarre, some unattended because of crowded lives with too many distractions.

I was in one of my manic creative modes this eve, so I thought I would go searching the Blog Graveyard for some ghosts.

I looked up my name: randyhurst.blogspot.com. That was spooky. The first entry visible on the page said this:

" Ive posted or made this sight to convince myself that I'm obsessed with you . My alter too you if you would . Some one had told me that in five years you would be an after thought . I fought back the rage and agreed only to avoid an arguement [sic] . I want to tell you that I love you but I know you moved on and found another love."

Was this some lost love of mine? Wait? No. This was a guy writing about another guy. Not a love out of my past for certain. But you can see how I might have had that first tinge of mystery tingle. Getting back to our blog graveyard theme; the randyhurst blog had it's last entry on Monday, May 08, 2006.

Someone I read tonight was even forced into an entry, "Dad set this up for me, it looks kinds cool, so I will see where it goes. Guess where it went? One or two entries later it became a ghost blog; unattended and most likely forgotten. So much for kinda cool.

If you click on my profile you will find several blogs that I too have initiated, only to allow them to sit idle. There is a reason for mine just sitting there. They are seed ideas. I have reserved the Domain Names and the blogsites for a company that I will develop in retirement. I will continue make entries in my core blog, TogetherOneservant.blogspot.com.

On nights like this one, when I am uninspired to write there, you will find me searching the Blogger Graveyard for ideas to post on this page. If you find one of interest, post the link and a comment.

Digger Bones.

P.S. At the time that I posted this entry Bloggerpergatory and Bloggerlimbo were both available names. I'm sure that there are thousands of Blogs that are worthy of being renamed with one of these more apropos names.
